Should I Go to Therapy?


If you are asking yourself this question. I would also ask “What could improve in my life?” Therapy is so much more than laying on a couch and talking about your feelings. Processing is a piece of it, but you are also building new skills and learning about the inner workings of your brain.


I like to incorporate psychoeducation into sessions because it helps to know why. People say to breathe when you feel overwhelmed, but why? Is there scientific evidence that supports this? The answer is yes.


There are models of therapy and techniques that have been researched and supported to improve clients’ mental health. Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) are both evidence-based models that I use in my practice.
